I'm thinking I'd like try and get out for a little 'wheeling this weekend with the kids. Perhaps just a mild cruise down to Hale creek and let the little ones run around on the beach. The weather is suppose to be the s***s, but Sunday doesn't look too bad.

Anyone up for anything?

Sounds like fun; I too will check with the :princess: and see what's planned for Sunday; can't think of anything at the moment. I'll bring one or both my kids too.

Good to go, but I need to be back by 3pm(ish) as we have extended family coming to the house to visit, and apparantly I'm cooking dinner.

I can do the Sasquatch Inn at 10am.

I have a CB and cell is 604.309.5233. Channel 4?

I'll bring some wood to make a lunch fire for coffee and hot chocolates.

Making my checklist of stuff to bring (you know with kids, it's ridiculous). My daughter is coming, my son just got a boat-load of gifts for his birthday, so I think he is opting to stay home and build lego.

My kids are big Van Halen fans (no tunes in the cruiser though, yet)

See you at 10.

Clear skies and zero degrees this morning in Abby! Should be a beautiful day.

I was awakened this morning by my oldest daughter, quite excited that we were going 4x4ing. The truck was pretty much packed already, just had to make a few sandwiches and away we went, to meet up with the rest of the crew for a 10am rendezvous at the Sasquatch.
I was a few minutes late due to the obligatory potty breaks on the way, but Kim & Brenda with their 3 kids, 2 dogs, and a military trailer in tow behind their 60, along with Rob and his daughter in his fj40 were patiently waiting.
We had Kim lead us on so he could set a comfortable pace, and a little after 11 were down on the sandy beach of Hale Creek. We had taken the 'easy' way in, as I tried to be easy on Kim with his trailer, and Rob had never been down there before.
A camp fire was made, but it was rather warm out, at least until the sun sunk behind the mountains an hour or so later. The kids had fun throwing rocks and playing with the dogs, and shortly after are arrival, we heard the rumble of a diesel, as Rob C (Fly Cruiser) and his 2 kids joined us for the afternoon. Rob had to leave early, as he had some dinner cooking to do.
After some exploration, fossil hunting, hot dog & marshmallow eating, we packed up for the afternoon and began to meander homeward. Kim took the lead out, and headed up the 'hard' way. As I chugged along behind him, I began to think he had turned around somewhere, as he was nowhere in sight. It turns out that with a trailer and 3b, speed overcomes open differentials, so he had rocketed up at about 40kmh!
Rob C had headed up to check out Sunrise Lake, and caught up to us again when we stopped for a scenic photo break.
It was an uneventful ride home, the ride back down always seems to be quicker for some reason.

And as Greg mentioned, we couldn't of had a more beautiful November day.

Definitely a perfect November day. I made it back in plenty of time to put on the apron and feed the masses of in-laws, but sure was worth the trip. Abi crashed as soon as we hit the main FSR and slept the whole way home. She loved to stop in the creeks and watch the water-falls.

Thanks for a great time!

It's a 2H but same difference. :)

"which one of you gus made thier kids do homework at the beach................... thats just mean"

That's my daughter, she likes to draw. But, I'll pocket that idea of 'homework at the beach' for another time. :D
