Holy crap ^^

Just to go buy a PLAIN 2011 Tacoma would be that same price. KBB is $28-31K with no improvements.

WOW

Finally - something FlatlandTRD can buy so he can sell me his rig! :)

Lets say you could get the above for a steal at $26K from someone . . or that it has some "off-road rash" or whatever. Still going to add this up based on list price of add-ons:

TRD supercharger - - $4000
TRD cat back exhaust - - $400
Blue tooth - - $100
Overhead DVD player for rear passengers - - $300
Wet Okole seat covers - - $400
Cobra Citizen Band (CB) Radio and Kenwood amateur 2M Dual Band Radio "HAM" - - $150?
2 interior and 1 exterior 110V outlets running off of 400W "anytime" invertor - - $100?
2 exterior cigarette lighter outlets - - $40
Garmin Montana GPS semi-permanently mounted - $125
Dual Optima Yellow top batteries with IBS battery controller - - $190x2 +$300?
4xInnovations rock sliders and full set of ATO under body skid plates and Vision X led rock lights - $700
BajaRack roof rack with 2 10" Rigid Industries SR series light bars - - $1100
ARB front bumper with built in fog lights , 2 8" Vision X lights, and 9,500 lbs Tmax winch with synthetic cable - - $800+150+700+250 = ~$2000
Safari Snorkel - - $700
ATO wrap around high clearance rear bumper with hitch, rear lights, shackle mounts, hi-lift notches, swing arm setup to hold 2 RotoPax cans as well as a flip down table, and backup camera - - $1500
ATO bed rack with Vision X led side and rear lighting and storage container rack - - $750
Cascadia Vehicle Tent "Rainer" rooftop tent - -$700
ARB 80 qt fridge on slider - $700
ARB rear air locker - $950
ARB big air compressor - $400
OME 886 front springs and OME Dakar rear leaf packs on all around Bilstein 5100 shocks - -$1200

My numbers are not exact, but holy cow if that isn't $15K+ worth of stuff.

Even if you use a low-ball valuation on "add on" prices, you are looking at the value of the parts at 40%

Oh by the way - -none of the above includes the labor/time to put it together :)

Gotta ask the question on the '11 Taco....How does a 2011 model with 23k miles have no remaining warranty? Even if it was a 2010 delivery there should still be approximately 6 months remaining. Maybe Jason can fill us in but it sounds fishy.

I agree, IB.

BTW - not saying this is a scam - - but - - - scammers have started using telephone numbers lately. They also have been taking pictures from other ads and re-using them.

I saw the Diesel Hilux from a few months ago posted in SE Missouri or some where not too far away - over again - - and it wasn't a reseller - just a scammer using the picture.

I just read the "If you are interested please email. Require a $200 deposit to hold it. Must be Paid within 7 days. Will accept personal check but must clear the bank first."

I just emailed to see what is up - I think IB is on to something.

:meh:Yeah it was a quick post man i haven't looked into it. I may now just to see what's up.

I for some reason thought this was your ad. It's been on for a while.

Nope. I have that empty 80 series front axle. Free to a good home.

They come with 3yr/36K from the factory, and 100k from dealer when they install the supercharger... so there would be at least something.

Had family in this weekend, or I would be pushing to meet with the seller, that alone would be worth $200 if this is not a scam. Don't get me wrong, I love fish and eat it regularly, but this has a bad fishy smell. Let me know if you are going to Leavenworth, I'll drive! My biggest problem is this hasn't been on any of the forums that it should be on, unless this is a desperate situation... or it's hot.

On the legit side I was thinking he could be an officer, Ft. Leavenworth, has a huge officer school he could be PCS'd and is just trying to sell this off quick. This would explain the no forum thing... But I do agree with the consensus, this is a crooked deal with a bad ass truck for bait.

Yea - I have had some back and forth with the seller. I think Mandinga is right - - looks like maybe an officer who had to deploy - helped wife with initial sale and now she is trying to get it done while he is out. Most likely it could be embarrassing to sell, etc.

Here is the email chain:

ME:

Hi there. Very interested. Please call me at 913 908 8690 - need to set up time to come look at your vehicle. Thanks!! Jamie

Seller:

Hi Jamie,

I will just be honest with you. We also have the truck listed on ebay. So we are waiting to show it, to see if the bids will get higher than what we are asking for it on craigslist. The listing on ebay ends on Tuesday. If it doesn't sale would you like me to email you back?

Thanks
Lyndsay

ME:

Looks like it has some issues with the odometer?

Jamie

Seller:

I actually didn't know that there was a issue until I posted the truck on ebay. I contacted Experian Automotive to see what they are talking about and this is their reply:

"In order for this to be corrected we are going to require a new MT title that shows Actual Miles. Not Actual Miles may have been checked or entered in error when the title was applied for. Once you receive the new title please fax to 224-698-5234 or you can attach to this email..."

So because there was either no miles on the original title or because it was checked wrong at the DMV when registered, Experian is claiming there is a title/odometer issue. I'm not going to mess with sending them a new title at this time since we are selling it. We don't live in Montana so it all has to be done over the phone and by mail so it'll take a least a couple of weeks for them to take it off the truck's report.

There has never been a issue with the odometer, we bought the truck brand new and have been the only owners. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks
