Wax for Scratches?

Steve, you asked how to remove scratches. Wax does not remove scratches, it just hide them. FWIW, I've used both the $20 blue Zymol and the $150 specialty Zymol with both products, the wax didn't last very long.

....mud hides scratches quite well.... and if thick enough, can help prevent them in the future. Seriously, try a dark green permanent magic marker, color and imeadiately wipe to remove excess.

The ultimate solution is the fAvE solution,
I simply wash my truck twice a year,
that way I cant see the scratches in the paint.

But how long does the Meguir's last?

Hoser-

That's amazing, you sure you didn't take the "after" picture on dealer's lot! :)

Be careful with Color Back. It is not for clear coats. I ruined the paint on my Toyota pickup with that stuff. This was a few years ago. Maybe the new Color Back is okay. Read the can!!!

Thanks, I'll read it more carefully

The first picture of the scratches looks worse than it was. Mostly dust and dirt. After washing it, none of the scratches were deep enough to catch a fingernail. But still, it took some time to get all the scratches out.

Yeah those photos kind look like the before and after pics where the before is some girl without makeup and the after has about an inch of makeup. :D

If you would just follow me through our new LC hearing protection test area we will hide those scratches. First put on your hearing protection then drive through the Ironwoods on the test trail with me. Stop your truck and practice shooting for a while, then return by the same route. After you have finished there should be enough curly pieces of plastic hanging from the fender flares that no one will even notice the scratches. Fixed!

Hoser is correct, I would let it breateh out for a week or so before going over it with wax. But I am kind of anal about wax application since I paint most of the cars I touch and would not wax after painting for at least 90 days.

Meguiar's Scratch X works well for me.

For me as well but if you can "feel" the scratches the only way to get them out is with something like an orbit polisher.
