The second alternator is fairly common, some people install it to power ridiculous sound systems, others to power a complete secondary electrical system with every single accessory connected to it. I think this might be far fetched, as this guy doesn't have a belt on it..

I see this is an old thead but I have had this truck and it can't be converted.

The engine has a crank position sensor. So you would have to drill a hole on your 80s engine to try t fit it. It would be stupid. In Colombia the FJ80 did come with this 3 coil engine for several years.

What people do here is just get the engine from another truck and fit it. It does give you more power but it's marginal.

I mean. You do feel it. I have has both versions. But not to the point of spending 10K doing swaps and stuff. It just react a bit better.

Actually the US 1fz-fe spec was a nominal 212hp.
