Hi All, thanks for accepting me to your forum, I am located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, we have several HZJ77 ZX cruisers running on site here, most of them are in terrible condition except for the one I am using and I would like to keep it in as good shape as possible, so I will get straight to the point and have indicated my problem below, thanks in advance for any assistance?

Please could anyone tell me if there are pictorials on IH8MUD or the internet to sort out a leaking AC condensation (possibly blocked drain pipe) on a HZJ77 ZX 1994? if this is not the problem what else could it possibly be? as it pisses down with rain at this time of year here in the DRC almost continually! I have sealed and removed the fuse for the sunroof so definitely not the same as the issue I used to have with an 80 series that had clogged sunroof drainage pipes.

Regards
Tony

Welcome aboard mate.
Most problems with water ingest is from the air vent overflows clogging with compose after a few years. Antenna's can cause water in running along the cable entering the cab. The windscreen sealing could also give some water intake after a lot of years service.
Good Luck please let us know where you find. :)

When I folded down the windscreen on my BJ74 I found a lot of rust and 2 large holes.
After repairing the holes, the water no longer came inside.

i have experienced , twice , that some leakage comes from the wind shield , or better from the rubber around it .
generally you see it dripping on the right side , near or on the air filter near passenger feet.
if this is the case , the solution will be to seal , or even better change the rubber around the glass.

from what I understand , the rubber shrinks as it ages , and always leakes on the right side.

only my 2 cents

I had some leaks, ended up being a slit in the boot through the firewall drivers side (RHD). It would drip on my foot. Sealed it with some silicone, no drippy drippy anymore

Get the garden hose, run it on the LOWER parts of the rubber windscreen seal. If it doesn't leak ,move IT higher until it does.

The condensation outlet from the aircon should show a healthy puddle under the car when you stop with the engine on. If not , it is leaking into the car

Any idea how to unclog the air vent overflows?
