All Stan's are safety Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are interesting to visit. but to reach India is better to go through Iran and Pakistan as many overlanders doing, or if you will have a chance to get documents for China you can try this way, but not sure if possible to cross border there. I have never been there, only visited surrounding Kazakhstan countries, except China. Of course you have to avoid Afghanistan)Thanks @Rinat. Renat, we ordered the hermetically sealed starter and water cooled alternator from a parts store in Vladivostok. I guess you know the city.
They are made in Japan and imported to Russia and good quality. We payed a little more than $700 total for both. Seems really cheap but that is what happened. We are about to buy them for the 200 we have also. I don't want an accident like @tbisaacs had.
I had the opposite feeling - other than all the water, it looked a lot like the Northeast. Like Northern Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont...Slightly off-topic again, but this picture really does it for me. Absolutely love those kinds of woods, feel like they're more rare in the states.
