@LandCruiserPhil What about a snorkel like Fabulous Fabrications snorkel that is designed facing towards the rear?


I was just reposting info off the manufactures (air-flow) website do with it as you wish. :)

A turbo diesel is pressurized, it doesn't 'care' and can adjust as needed for ATM relative pressure. A gas engine has the piston (and the exhaust flow) pulling air. Put your hand over a carb and feel that. If it was facing backwards the head of the snorkel could have a zone of low pressure, that would be overcome by the piston stroke, but it can't create a vacuum. Maybe if you ran huge overlap cams at 200 mph there would be something.
