I feel your pain. I had Matt do all my knobs except the choke and throttle since I need to remove those and I know they are a PITA. Matt said that it will be easier to remove the heater on one side and swing it over--this will give you more room. I will try it. m

Wow! Much easier on my earlier rig with aftermarket heater. Piece of cake, actually. That does look ugly.

Speaking of heaters, this rig actually has one. My '64-'65 didn't come with one.
How do the rear heater hoses connect to the system? Is there supposed to be a 'T' fitting here?

A bit more paint striping..

A horizontal seam from a PO rocker patch really bugged me. I tore a chunk of it off to see what's ahead to get it right. A big job.

But more spring green keeps me going.

Beautiful. Are those orange and red reflectors on the sides original equipment? I have a ‘67 and dont have those.

@Wetlandman , this May of '68 build had the amber reflectors, first year I think. They were quickly replaced by the front amber side rectangulat lights, and red rear side rectangular lights. The round red rear reflectors may not of been standardized. See @oregon fj 's excellent thesis in his "Older than dirt" build. Early ones were added dockside to meet US requirements and weren't initially standard in make or exact placement.

With Stella coming back to spring green, she has the option of sporting some matching OEM bows and soft doors (or sharing them with the Teal Shpeal). Part of the conversion kit would have included the rear corner 'feet'. It's so cool to know Mr. T planned for this day 52 years ago, and that four Number 4 bolts are there waiting there. Thanks @tahoe40/45 for these two parts!

I'll have corner braces too when @SMG's press is back on line.

Old radiator still worked. But the non-brass parts weren't fairing well.

Dan, a local land cruiser fan had this spa treated OEM radiator. _Much_ better.

A 4' x 5' Con-Ferr roof rack was available locally for cheap. It was rusty, and came off of a Jeep, but had 6 complete roof rack clamps. And it had these rivited on.

I took them off for safe keeping while I work on the rack.

Stella on the right with the Teal Shpeal, a '71 I just sold to some Mudders in Portland. Put on the soft doors, am liking that look.

Bought some nicely faded spring green doors and started putting them on to see how they look.
