Starting to move things from my disc swap. I have a set of Warn 6 spline locking hubs, that I just listed in the classifieds. From what I gather they are discontinued (but rebuild kits available) and are mainly for drum brake FJ4x and FJ55. Mine are working but need to be cleaned up. For a club member I'd let them go for a couple of beers.
 
Hey guys, I am not a club member yet, but I was hoping for a little help for a fellow San Diegan. I have a 64 fj40 and I am looking to do an axle upgrade to get disc brakes. Does anyone have or know of any in the so-cal area?
 
I looked for awhile and gave up. I found a few but shipping usually made it more effort than it was worth.

@BreckenridgeCruiser found one in the LA area and may still have the contact info.

I'm wrapping up my swap, I ended up buying what I needed either new or from mud members. Hit me up if you decide to go that route I can tell you what you need

I grabbed a few spare parts but not the whole setup... One thing to read up on is what you need to upgrade to a birfield from a ball and claw (what the 64 came with IIRC) setup in the axles... I'm more of a late model guy so don't know the details but I think I remember that going drum to disk is different for Birf to Birf than BnC to Birf.

IIRC there were some clearance differences... possible some grinding to make room for the Birfs? Keep in mind that the 8/80 and later 40s had interchangeable brake and knuckle parts with a 60 so that may help with sourcing parts.
