Restored is not what I was looking for. I just realize that by the time you restore one you will have over $20,000 into it . And also I'm not looking for one that someone wants more then $20,000 for it.

Got it! I guess it depends and your definition of the word "mint" Hard to find "mint" and original for under 20K. (if you do, let us know) I know of one "mint" 1980 FJ40. All original with 6,800 miles. It's $70K

saw a mint 84 BJ40 LX for sale on eBay Australia. If you're looking for under $20K in N America and paying in Canadian dollars you'll never find a "mint" one. AU is your best bet and yes, it is easy to drive RHD trucks.

Au dollar is still lower than Canadian dollars. Easy to import. Aside from something like this I'd say you're never gonna find one!

I'm flattered, but the one in Paso Robles looks way cleaner than mine. Mine has minor rust and dents all the way around. It has been used for its intended purpose by the PO and myself. It does still have most of the original paint and almost all the original bolts and other small parts.

1973 FJ40 Stock & very clean
Call Glen Bawcum at Paris Toyota. (903) 784-8989. He has a very clean & rust free 1973 FJ40 for sale. He recently added disc brakes and power steering, the only 2 upgrades from stock.

Recent work (November '08) includes a front disc brake conversion, new clutch and pressure plate, new rear brakes, new knuckles, new exhaust manifold, resealed oil pan gasket, and fresh paint on top. Receipts total $4,400 on recent work.
This vehicle is very original and completely rust free. You will not find a nicer restored FJ40 anywhere! Complete with original repair manuals. Accessories include air conditioning, a winch, and a rear heater.

I have what you are looking for. A 43K ORIGINAL mile 1977, 100% STOCK. This truck is AMAZING! All the original tools are still in the japanese news paper, original window sticker etc....... PM if you are interested. It goes on the mrket next week. thanks
