Looking for a daily driver/camping rig.
After looking at this and deciding it was way too much work for the money I'm wondering whats out there...

I'm in St. Louis, Mo. but will travel for the right rig. The paint and body do not have to be pretty by any means but I'm hoping for little to no frame rust. I know, I know long shot since I only have about $3k to spend. I could stretch up to $4000 for the right rig but had hoped to spend that $1000 on the stuff that a $3000 cruiser would obviously need.

I'd prefer a 40 since I'm coming from an old 71 early bronco and loved it but the 62s are pretty nice looking wagons and being able to drive long distances and tow a small trailer would be a huge plus.

We all started somewhere... so lemme know what you have.

That one has already been on here and didn't have any bites at 3500 let alone 2500. Here's the link

I've looked at the photos and from the inside I see alot of daylight coming through the tub. Look at it this way it'll drain fast when it rains and you don't have a top on.

Everything that I've seen on here and on eBay it seems that if you're only looking to spend 2-4k expect alot of rust, or rust covered by diamond plate.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, to get a nice truck you really need to be looking at either an '74 or earlier (F motor not 2F, Front Drum, 3spd) etc.

That or be constantly reloading this forum looking for someone in a cash crunch and move fast.

I'm still looking for my first one, opportunity and budget are dictating which and when though.

Just double checked. It's still listed. Search for "Land Cruiser" on St Louis Craigslist, it should pop up.
