I`m running my 4-runner and are going sas. But I`m a bit concerned about my car becoming a bit to tall (5" allpro lift) and with not enough unsprung weight. Not quite there yet to change the 8" axles yet.

Anyone with some good idea how to add some weight? And I mean GOOD IDEA;)...

Or am I just being stupid??

I'm running 5" springs and the 8" Toyota axles without any problems. 37" Toyo tires (which are heavy), alloy wheels, chromo axles, etc.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. :shotts:

Start looking for stuff to mount to the axles....

lights? don't weigh much.
water tank? weird, but heavy.
winch? never seen it done.

skid plate(s). diff guard(s).

or just don't worry about it

I use the same lift on my 89 Pickup. I switched from 35" BFG's on Weld Wheels to 37" Swamper Boggers mounted on Mickey Thompson (Alcoa) wheels and gained about 300lbs. The only problem is you really notice it robbing the power on the trail.

If you run some 35 inch or larger swamper TSLs, or if you've ever picked up a 35" swamper on a 15x10 steel wheel, you know they are plenty heavy and you'll be fine, plus the thing that's going to help you more stable than anything is going wider. These days almost all the major companies are offering wheel spacers up to 3" wide so technically you can widen your stance 6 inches through wheel spacers alone. Of course when you step up to a wider wheel with a different offset that will widen you a little bit as well. People have been running the ALLPRO 5 inch lift for a long time now. It is designed specifically for your vehicles weight give or take a little so I'd imagine you'll be just fine. Are you worried about being tippy on the street or on the trail? If street, I'd say fashion up some sway bars, if it seems tippy on the trail, widen it up a bit.
