Yep, I believe they were both 674-501. Straight, center dump, rams horns without any superfluous brackets to cut off.

Uber cool. That's the off the shelf combo I want to run. I don't have my tub on right now and that's the one loose end I haven't worked out.

I've run outside the rail duals for years, fantastic on days when your feet are cold, not so much any other day.

EDIT: English as a first language is hard.

This is exactly how I want to set mine up...Outside the frame headers are rusted and this is a great write-up!

Just a heads up, and for future reference, I ended up needing to modify the walker crossover pipe. Still not sure if I got a pipe with bad bends or if the Dorman Chinese repro Ram’s horns are just poorly formed - but I did have some trouble getting the two to match up.

In the end I welded about an extra 2” into the downpipe, which changed the bends for a better fit, and ditched the heat riser spacer.

This got me a bit more clearance with the oil pan (about 3/4”) and lined it up with my exhaust manifolds.

Another issue, if you plan to wheel it, is front driveshaft clearance:

Under flex on stock springs, I’m contacting the y-pipe with my front driveshaft. In asking around I’ve discovered I’m not the only one with this issue either. I’ll probably add a lift and lower the bump stops to try and avoid this in the future, until such a time I can replace it. For now, it still runs and does the trick.

I have 42087 - it's not installed yet as my engine is currently out of the truck. However, I've test-fit it and it should work nicely with my Dorman 2" center-dump Ram's Horns. It is 100% 2-inch pipe - it will not work with 2.5" ram's horns. I believe this is a reproduction pipe for an early Corvette. One thing to add is that you will likely need the heat-riser (or a heat-riser spacer) to clear the oil pan properly. This is about a 2" piece that mounts between the Ram's horn and the exhaust on side side of the engine. I picked my spacer up from Corvette Central (P/N: 322110). That said, beyond the spacer, you don't need any special oil pan, etc. for proper clearance.

I think I read somewhere that if you use two passenger-side Ram's Horns, you can get it to squeak by the oil pan without the spacer, but since I have an old 283 with no accessory holes in the head, I need the alternator-mount on the driver's side Ram's horn - so I'm going with a spacer.
So you only need one spacer with a pair of rams horns? Not one for each side right?

I had to go out and look, it has been a while. It doesn’t look like I used the heat riser blank/spacer at all. If I remember correctly I ran into a weird clearance issue with the crossover pipe. The aftermarket Dorman Ramshorn exhaust manifolds I used seemed to bend inward toward the block a bit more than stock Ramshorn manifolds did (or the pipe just wasn’t bent quite right). Either way, I wound up having to cut the Y-pipe to change the angle slightly to get it to mate up to both manifolds. When I did, I just welded in an extra 2” or so of pipe that wound up taking the place of the spacer.
