Although I prefer the early steel tool boxes in their original state, I couldn't resist doing a refurb with a nice straight box I got in.

Took it down to bare metal with a good 7-day white vinegar soaking, followed by a dip in a phosphorous solution, followed by a media blast to remove any final remnants of rust or paint.

The powder coat color I chose was the darkest green the shop had. It's still several shades lighter than an original box, but I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Last pic shows the difference in color between an original box and the refurb. Think I'll do a matte black one in the future. Gonna ultimately post this one for sale me thinks.

Outstanding. Odd question, but can you tell me what characters are to the right of TOYOTA on the 250mm adjustable wrench?
 
It would be at the bottom if there was anything at all, where the HIT30 is on this one. If it is devoid of anything, that still tells me what I wanted to know.
