I remember seeing that someone was making the plate and stamping it(the one that mounted on the firewall). Does anyone remember who this was. And yes I tried the search already. This also could have been on the pirate forum.

Keil, Mark Staff from Hilton Head had a VIN plate made for his LV. I asked him about it and he said it was very easy. He said he contacted a Trophy making, engraver type shop and they screen printed it and then stamped it. I saw it and it looked excellent. I also have a friend that does muscle cars and he has a source that repops vin plates for muscle cars, but you have to have proof for them to do it and I am not sure if they do cruiser types. Let me know if you need me to get more info on that. I think Mark Staff's user name is markieboy? I will send him an email about the vin as I stay in touch with him and pass any info I get along to you. Mark

I have FJ25/early FJ40 data tags.
But they're different than an FJ45 tag.

Shane had posted that he was working on 45 tags in 2006.

I believe Shane is AAtlas1x. He makes and sells all kinds of repro labels and stuff. I have tried to contact him about shifter plates for the glovebox a few times and he never replies to me (is it something about me?!?), but hopefully you will have better luck.

he's very busy...he's knee high in leather stuff

chances are he's already working on it :)

I had FJ25 shifter plates done if that helps :D

If Shane hasnt doen em yet, and I had enough of an order to get the first batch paid for, I might be able to do em. But I'd need the ok from Shane. I dont want to step on anyones toes.

The hard part of the newer data tags is the Teq stamp. The die would have to be made and it is a copywrited insignia by Toyota.

shift plate

Foxfab, those look great, but wont help me. Not to high-jack, but I was looking for one of his custome shift plates (auto transmission, 1965 transfer shifter) like he had done for Buckrosue's build. So if anyone gets in contact with him, let him know.

By the way Foxfab, your 45 taillight lenses look great, I just fit them up after having them sit in the garage for a year or so. Very nice!

Here is a pic of mine. I need a new one as well. Those FJ25 tags are really nice. The only thing stamped on these tags are the FJ45LV and the Frame Number. Look like pretty generic numbers so stamping should not be a problem. Comparing them to the other tags above they seem they would be easier.

nice ok I will see what graphic I can come up with to match it. figure that will be a start. atleast we would have a graphic to work with

ha not on an airplane until Monday I actually did use the artwork fromt he 25 vin plate. its alittle different but it was a huge head start. my vin plate is a bit differnt than Merbes but I will post up what I come up with.

ok her eis my first attempt. I used the25 plate as a start so i didn't have to recreate the letters. still tryint to find a direct match for the toyota font. anyway i used Merbes plate to get the info then set it up to match my plate which while illegible would be what i want to match.

Man that looks great. I could use 3 of them. with the model, type, engine no, and frame no. blank. Can you make them? What would be the cost?
I have a stamp set so I could put in the proper numbers. or if you don't mind I could maybe get the numbers to you and you could stamp for me.
Please let me know.

sorry i haven't been back to mud. first off I see some things tha still need fine tuning on it spacing and aligning and such and the seriel numbers and the model number would come off and get stamped or engraved I just put them on cause I got carried away :)
second I do not want to step on toes fo-sure but figured this would be a good way to get things jump started and this is soomething I am going to need int he next few months:) if we go this route my artwork will go to fox in that he has the contacts to get them made.
so if AtlasIX has already got these in the works great if not then we atleast now have a start. my only concern is that my plate while very similar to Merbes was a little different. I liked the layout of mine better in that it also had the engine seriel nmber which Merbes did not and since you would be doing these from scratch would allow you to put what ever engine is currently in your truck on the plate. ie my 87 2f for example :)
