I've seen mini prices all over the place. I saw a mint 83 on CL for $5,500 and I've seen junk for $1,200. There are none on eBay for reference. So, what is a stock original paint, unmodded mini worth?

if she's good mechanically, and you have the documentation to back it up, anywhere between 3-4.5 grand is practical. Prices will be higher with the solid axle rigs because of the demand. I'd expect to see a clean, cared for 84 around here to sell for no less than 5 grand, but that's local market.

Hi all:

I'm a mod over in the 60's section, just getting back into mini trucks. I have had a few over the years.

I just bought an '85. It was in Idaho, almost 500 miles away from me. It is about 98% rust free; has a few spots of body rust. Interior a bit worn and smelly. Never wrecked. SR5 model, 4x4, Xtra cab, 5 speed. Has the sold axle front and the EFI motor. Starts good, runs good, shifts smooth, transfer case smooth, hubs good. CEL light comes on all the time, exhaust stinks. Paint faded but original. Stickers barely there. 163,000 miles.

I paid $3300. I think I did pretty good on it. Feel free to chime in and tell me if you think I stole it or if I got ripped off.

I hope this info helps.

In the end, for a vehicle this old, it's worth what you're willing to pay for it. This is why NADA and KBB don't go back this far.

I kid you not, a few years ago someone offered me $10K for my truck, and he was totally serious. No way would I take it. I'm sure there's a number that I would accept, but it's a lot higher than that. It's not that it's such a great truck, it's just what it's worth TO ME.

Rust free and low mileage I see asking prices +/- $5K. No idea what they actually end-up selling for.

The "white whale" is an 85 Extended Cab SR5 4x4 with EFI and a 5-speed...

in '07 I got my '85 runner, efi, sfa, 5-speed, with 31's and 180k for $3k. I thought that was too high but I couldn't find anything else that I liked, so I took it.

How about some pics?:D

This is the pic from the craigslist ad. I am going to take a few more and open a thread on it later.

My buddy got a rust free 85 4Runner for free a couple years back so I kind of have a skewed perspective. Another buddy just paid $500 for a rust free '83 4x4 pickup with about 70K on the odometer. I got a scrubby '80 4x4 a couple years back for $250. It all depends on where you live.

Just on the other side of the mountains I've seen everything I've listed here sell for $2,000 for the old pickups to $5,000 for similar 4Runners.

Here was mine back in '07. Mentioned before, bought for $3k at a dealership. Was hidden behind the shop. Wanted $3500 for it but had a bad fuse link, got it for $500 off.
