The more I think about it the more I want this in a year or two. Seems cost would wind about the same as a rebuilt 1FZ w/ a supercharger. But this would have more power and Im willing to bet less problems.

Good to know. That was my concern about putting a 4l60/65 in a vehicle that dry weight is 6,200lbs. So this had me leaning toward a 4l80. But I like the gear ratios better in a 4l60. So from reading the 4l70 is just a beefed up 4l60.

Yep It is a beefed up 4l60e. The dry weight of an escalade/suburban or 1500 truck is more than a 80. That was my thinking.

So what y'all doing for a fuel pump. I've been told we have a 2 speed fuel pump and it goes into high mode at WOT. I'm thinking about putting in a different one like a MSD 2555.

I run the smaller walbro pump that all the camaro/mustangs use. 255lph rating. seems fine easy fit to mount in place of stock pump.

Nice. about time an ls motor found its way into the 80. Since you will need to redoo all the dshafts anyway Kirk you might as well throw an atlas behind the ls2.

of course with all that power it will wheel in every way better with the tcase it has

I should be pretty close to not having to mod the driveshafts. I am keeping the HF2A. Wont know for sure till the adapter arrives from the kangaroo express in about 3 more weeks. the delivery time sux from Marks adapters.

Its all for sale. Would like to sell as one load. Less transfer case.

Here is the adapter. Fresh from Australia.

Game on! GEET-R-DONE!

Does the shaft that comes with the kit slip over the output shaft of the tranny or does it replace the output shaft of the tranny?

Slips over factory output

So does this adapter work with all chevy auto transmissions?

No. The one he is using is specific for the 4l70. Advanced Adapters has kits for all trannies. I bought adapters from them for my FJ40 project hooking up my 700R4 to my NP203 and then to my 3sp case.

That is cool.

I debated over the whole 5.3 or 5.7 or 6.0 swap.

I can tell you this. The price vs mods was a no brainer for me. For 1400-1500 you can get 5.3 engine, ecu, wire harness, AND 4l60 transmission. 2WD. So it's already got the proper output shaft.

I wanted a bigger motor, but I decided if I really want more power, I'll just slap a blower on it.

KIRK; did you order from AA, or straight from AUS?

Had to go through AA. I paid extra to have it drop shipped from Aus. AA did better this time. I have had probs in the past with them but I am changing my take on them.

I hope to start back on the project tonight mounting tranny and t case together. More to come.
