Looks like those lights are not bare wire as you reccommend. I am an idiot so Im assuming its good to go to just cut those barrel connectors and splice it like normal

Yes! Totally fine (that's actually what I did with mine). I believe DD does also offer a bare wire version of the dual color lights - I probably just grabbed the first link I saw.

I just ordered the lights and the set up from you. Also ordered the no spoiler brake light and chase light version from you. another two projects to put in line with the 10 others I have waiting...lol You keep taking my money. HAHAHA Good stuff, man

Just installed these and I love them. Super sleek and functional. Thanks for the detailed instructions, they helped a lot! I went for amber so they are a bit softer on the eye at night camping. I didn't bother wiring them to turn on and off automatically with the other lights, I just want them on and off only based on the switch as I'm using them for camping.
What did you do different to get power like that? I also only want them to turn on when I hit the switch.

I bought red/white lights. So I want a switch to work like: white/off/red

If you wire them like the guide shows you, the middle position on the switch will still always be 'off', just FWIW.
