I have a very slow leak I'm trying to pin down. I suspect gearbox but looking for more evidence. UV dye says OK to use in transmission, engine and power steering systems. Any opinions on using this stuff?

I don't know any reason not to, other than it's a small system, and normally shouldn't be too hard to spot, but if it just weeping, then fluorescent dye might be the quicker way to find the leak.

Oil dye are the same for all types of oil the only different dye would be for a coolant or refrigerant.
You have a black light and glasses and you are golden.

The Power Steering System uses ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) so your good.

That's a good idea right there. Tucking that away for later
