Interesting, I've never seen that configuration before. The top looks like the NATO cans we're familiar with but the bottom looks like the US style that would fit the con-fer type can holder. Maybe the best of both worlds?

Yeah, they look a bit different. I noticed they are selling new cans as well for $60. The claim they are genuine NATO surplus. Has anyone bout from them? I'm wondering if they're genuine or knockoffs. They have them in red which I would prefer to the green that deutscheoptik sells.

My dad found me this at a flea market for $5, I don't know where it's from or who it's made by, but it's brand new. It seemed to hold gas just fine over labor day weekend, other than it needing a gasket on the cap, so that's good...

If anyone knows anything about it, let me know!

We used to buy those USMC cans new for work. I finally found out they were US Metal Corporation or US metal Container (USMC), I can't remember which and not US marine Corps. I bought 8 of them at a yard sale a few years ago for 20 bucks for all of them. Some were treated inside and looked like brand new, others had rust but were serviceable. A couple of them were dated in the 1950's. I ended up selling most of them and going with the NATO cans.
