Can an SC guy get in on the fun? I think I've found a way around the mandatory work day which was scheduled at my factory for Saturday. I plan to come up Friday evening, camp at Arrowhead. I usually try to stay around 38 or 41.
Not trying to crash your party but I had scheduled to go that weekend since before I saw your thread. I was already planning to meet Logan and Juan if I could make it.

Bill - I have been considering camping Friday night as well. Let me know what you end up doing.

I'll be there. I'll try for 38 or 41.
Otherwise you know Bonnie.

I am planning on dragging by butt down there in something.
Who has the fire lookout details?

good question. I would like to know also. If some of the trails are shut down i bet the few that are open will be crowded. And, with the drought, i bet it will be super dusty!!

I would like to try to make this trip. :hillbilly::zilla:

OK, you have a general ETA? I am about an hour away.

We could caravan from the east side of CLT if you want.

Well dangit I spoke too soon :frown: Today my 'get off work Sat free' card was revoked. The only hope I have now is if somebody in the supply chain drops the ball (like a CU receiver last week) and they have to cancel.
Just not meant to be apparently. I thought it was a sure thing. Today when I got home the tire that I cut at Cullowhee last time and wheeled on at Alan's and Mtn Estates last weekend was flatter than a CU running back.
Does it show that I'm a little irritated? Both my employer and my alma mater are on my fecal roster this week.
BR Pkwy next wkend and then the Pig Run.

Andy,

Did you reserve a site yet?

What time you think you will be arriving??

No, I haven't reserved anything yet. What about you and Juan?

It will be just me and I will be in the 40 and sleeping in a tent.

I can arrive anytime. Probably between 5 and 6. I will try to stop on the way and pick up some fire wood as well.

When are you two rolling in??

Hate to hear that Bill, I'll be rooting for a CU like performance from any angle that would help to get you there. Either way, good luck against VPI!!!!

Just called the ranger. Everything but Daniel and rocky mount currently closed, but they will make a decision on the rest today or in the morning. Fingers crossed.

good looking out Barry. i was going to call them in a few minutes so you saved me the time. If those remain the only trails open, I'll prolly go another time. I'm sure it'll be extremely crowded with only two trails open. I really want to go though so I'll cross me fingers as well.

So camping and hanging out with fellow cruiserheads does not do it for ya? :flipoff2:

If that is the case then definetly you need to come out another time.

Well, I'd like to be there, but I WILL be finishing the interior tub on my 40. Ramon, if I could borrow your Schutze gun at the next Meeting?

good one Juan. I see your point. With Stacy being due in less than 4 weeks camping is out for me. I was having a friend come down from Va to ride along. I just hate to have him drive that far for limited trail time. I would love to spend more time with everyone, but with the baby due so soon, I hate to spend too much time away you know. I will definitely be making some of the trips in the future though. But it's not set in stone yet either. fingers are still crossed. :flipoff2:

Those are good reasons I agree with you. It will be great to have you though!!

Ranger says she thinks everything will be open on Saturday. It's not "official" yet though.
