Yes, we had some pre-trip mishaps, we will have trail checklist and also pre-ride meeting regarding all that from now on, it didn't help not having everyone in one place like i had discussed in the opening post. Learn and improve, just glad everyone got out safe.
The hike out didnt bother me at all, I could definitely use the exercise.

Net, net is that the triangle has lots of interest and participation, the triad isn't far behind and CLT is dragging a bit. Fair assessment from what I've seen.
Don't know about the multiple leaders in different areas, especially someplace like CLT where interest and participation is almost non-existent but will wait to see how things progress...
It obviously makes sense to focus and invest limited resources like time, energy and cash in the areas with the highest concentration of interested folks.
