upgrading speakers and not amp on a budget

If just planning on replacing the speakers whilst using the OEM power, the speaker efficiency and impedance is going to be key to a successful outcome. Believe it or not, but many/most speakers actually get blown out by too little power as opposed to overpowering. When an amplifier (be it deck or OEM amplifier) is overdriven, it goes into distortion (clipping) and that is where speakers are often blown.

By using an extremely efficient speaker, you can hopefully somewhat sidestep this issue as they would need very little power to achieve satisfactory SPL levels.

For post 2003 100's, the options are somewhat limited. However, something like the JL Audio CleanSweep can interface with the factory NAV/HVAC and allow for the installation of quality amplification and more flexibility with speakers. Certainly not cheap, but little is when talking about these vehicles!

I swapped in More Maximol 6.5 components in the front and Morel Maximo 6.5 2-ways in the rear doors in my 2006 LC

They are all made in Israel (NOT CHINESE JUNK) and I find all of their different series of speakers to be far superior to anything else I have listened to (especially the lower priced Morel stuff)

The best Morel Elate series are incredible and high $$$$, but obviously for a different application

These Maximo speakers sound much better than stock for now, and I may add a JL Audio Cleansweep in the future with an amp and possibly a better sub setup.

I get hissing from all inputs, pandora, radio, and GPS voice. I read online i can ground the RCA's to the radio? Or maybe i need to play with the GAINS on the amp.

Unplug your outputs one at a time to see if one is a major contributor to the hiss. The put a ground loop isolator on that output. It may be more than one.

Yes you can ground the outer conductor to the radio. Some model Pioneer units were notorious for burning up a micro fuse on the system board, and wrapping a bit of copper wire around the outer part of the RCA connector and connecting that to the unit itself basically restores the proper ground plane that was busted by the fuse letting go. Course if you're not running Pioneer, that's not the problem - but grounding the RCAs won't hurt anything.

plug and play speaker wiring harness, works great!
