Unused brackets underneath 91 FJ80 (1 Viewer)

Alright I may be getting into stupid territory again. Tried to figure it out. What were these brackets originally used for? Dont have the experience to figure it out or anything to compare it to. If someone could explain their usefulness I would really appreciate it.

I have no idea. They remind me of something for a trailing arm or a torsion type thing? Both sides angled out <edit>. I dont have friends who have these rides and it's my first. I looked at pics of other 91's and cant say Ive seen them either. Thanks for your respose!

It makes sense, but it always seemed to me they looked too flimsy to make a good recovery point. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Tie downs, for transport. That's why they look too light for towing; they are.
