Lesson Learned (rather embarrassing) ......
We installed an underground electric fence about a month ago and with one exception the dogs have become accustomed to it. We have one dog who is so singular focused on chasing squirrels that she forgets the fence is there. Once she's outside of the fence she will simply set down and will not attempt to re-cross the fence. Here is the stupid part on my behalf. I walked over and took her collar off and walked her back into the yard. If you are going to do this DO NOT HOLD THE COLLAR IN YOUR HAND. :)

We had a dog that would run throught the fence and take the pain for the few seconds it gave once the dog ran outside the zone. It's expensive, but this system solved all our problems. It's Petsafe YardMax, and has an infinate zone outside your wire, which means it continues to shock the dog until they run back or you get them back in. There is a timer, but it's beyond what gets the dog's attention. After two tries the dog never tried again.
