Just needed to slap on a couple of welds and then I can finish wiring. Got a bummer of call saying that the mounts won't be ready til Monday. Huge bummer. It was supposed to be done today so that the welder had tonight and tomorrow to do all of the welding. Then powder on Monday morning to be ready to pick up on Tuesday. Now I pick up Momday and get to welder Monday afternoon which means these won't be ready to ship until Friday if I'm lucky. Boo!!

Ok folks I hit one minor snag so I figured I would let you all know the status of the snag. The F.E. mounts themselves are done and with the welder while he does his magic. I took the first article home and started playing with it and mounting it in place and adding all of the wiring to it. The two door side switches and wiring is no problem. When I finally got to the hump side Toyota switch I realized that we didn't make the bezel we were supposed to to get the switch's tabs pulled back far enough to lock the switch in place. BTW, its turning out to be a pain in the neck just to add this but I digress.

I finally sent out the piece to be laser cut and then have it welded onto the backside of the Toyota switch knock-out. Well I finally got the price from the cutters and its ridiculously overpriced for what it is. So I went back to the drawing board and realized I didn't need to over complicate the stupid bezel for an offset, all I needed was two spring steel tabs tig'd into place. Easy peasy.

So here is what I was originally going to do:

And what I am going to to instead because...its a stupid plastic switch that weighs grams :flipoff2:

The little metal tabs will be tig'd into place. Just need to make a simple jig first then it'll be a cakewalk.

So why am I even bothering with this? Well, lets just say I have a very interesting utilization for that switch spot in particular and it will be one of those, "holy crap I ALWAYS have that problem". And I will have a solution for it :flipoff2:

What it all means is I will be running I think one extra day behind. I was all set up to get these ready to pick up on EOD Friday to ship out on Sat. Now it looks like I will have everything on here ready to go instead by next Monday afternoon and ready to ship by a week from today.

Sorry guys, I was shooting for Friday.

No worries @NLXTACY I actually think you'd make good on all the orders if it got canned ;)

A very smart person once told me that your first idea for something was rarely right....
