U-bolt dimensions

Anyone know the measurements of FJ40 ubolts or diameter of the late model FJ40 axle housing?? I'm specifically looking for the width or bend radius of the u-bolt. I've searched and searched, but no luck.

The axle tube is 3", if that is what you are asking.

Thanks, I got home and grabbed an old u-bolt off the wall.

Actually, not.

It's close to 3 inches, but try to get a 3 inch u-bolt to fit without bending it. It's closer to 3.16 inches. This is particulary noticable if you want to use standard 3 inch spring perches, which must be ground a bit to fit.

If you go anywhere and ask for 3.16" U bolts.....
