For sale is my 1971 FJ 40. Located in Austin TX.

Driven often around town and easily handles 200 mi round trips to the Texas hill country to wheel (or eat BBQ) and drive home.

Tried to make a list of everything I worked on or remembered since owning it these last 8 years. Recently purchased an FJ45 and need the garage space.

Desmogged 1982 2F

3 speed moved from column to the floor before I got it

Weber Carb Jan 2015

CSF Radiator June 2014

Seat Frame Blasting and Powder coating Feb 2016

Diff Service FR and RR Flush Feb 2018

New Tie Rod Ends March 2018

New Hardtop to Body weather-stripping May 2018

LED Headlight Upgrade May 2018

Front Knuckle Rebuild June 2018

New Clutch and pressure plate March 2019

Center Arm Rebuild Kit (Not installed) April 2019

If buyer is interested, I will also include a Bestop soft top and soft doors- color black. Top has one small side window that needs repair.

I also have a j**p Bestop bikini top that was colored with fabric paint from brown to black. No rips or tears.

Asking $10k as it sits, $9500 MUD price.

Will also consider reasonable offers

My wife just laughed at me and said "no" when I told her I was thinking about buying another. Great looking 40. Glws. I think you could be asking more.

@drwright68 haha! I only want to break even- I love these cruisers and think this is a great chance for a new enthusiast to get into the hobby. This 40 got me hooked- I now have a 200 and a 45 as a result!

I plan on it! Though it would probably have to be new one for her....45 or 55 for me...2019 for her...I would never spend that for a depreciating vehicle unless the right 45 or 55 came along ha!
 
Great looking/running rig. Wish I could've taken it off your hands. Just not in the cards right now. GLWS man.
