Tuktoyaktuk July/August 2026 or 2027

I just spoke with a gentleman who owns a 74 FJ40 and he wants to organize a trip to Tuktoyaktuk for the summer of '26 or '27 in the July/August area.

He would like other Land Cruiser freaks to join for this adventure. He is very familiar with the North and is no shrinking violet when it comes to driving old leaf sprung stuff long miles.

I may join as this trip has been on my list for ages!

Having been to Alaska in 06 and just recently to Whitehorse I’d suggest as much time as possible be allocated: it’s a long way there.

Just got back last month from driving my 60 from Bend OR to Homer AK, its a loooooong way.

Check my blog in my signature to see the whole trip. The biggest lesson I learned...one month was not enough to enjoy the trip and not just be driving for hours on hours a day.

I hope you do it! Its beautiful country up there.

The Canol Road has been on my hit list for a long time as well, but next years trip is Rubithon Tuktoyaktuk is also on there but a long time away from having a cruiser that can travel long distances, although swapping swampers out for some MT's on the 60 might be enough

My wife and I are seriously considering a 6-month trip in 2027. We intend on leaving Mid-June, and taking 10 weeks to head north from Michigan to Tuk, the south to Washington. 4 weeks traveling from Washington down to Baja, then another 10 weeks down Baja and back up to Michigan.

I'll keep an eye on this thread!
