Nice job. I would really like a bender will by my next big tool purchase. Are you finding the technique fairly easy to get down?

If you want tobend simple parts (that are on one plane, for example) it's not hard at all. But if you plan on building more complicated parts, then the software comes in handy big time.

Having the angle finder that clamps on to the end of the tube is a must if you want to keep the same plane, or rotate to a new one.

Looks great man!
What does this program do that youre talking about?
How does it assist with the process?

here's the website.... Bend-Tech Home

it basically allows you to build the part, or pieces of the final project (or the entire project if you buy the expensive software) step by step and angle by angle. The EZ 3D is what I have, and you can draw out pieces in 3D on your screen.

here's a snap of the piece I bent in the photo.

Wow. That looks great. I might have some future work for you.

Looking better all the time.

What kind of finish do you have planned?

Hope you feeling better soon, the one going around right now is bad.

thanks guys!

I haven't put much though into the finish yet. I've always painted parts that I've built with rustoleum flat black cause they're under the truck getting scratched by rocks. It's easy to touch up that way.... Since this is going to be away from rocks I may just spend the money to have it powder coated. Depends on how much that cost though.

I've been using black appliance epoxy paint on stuff. It seems to hold up to sun and weather better than any else I found in a rattle can.

Nice rack!

No...not that kinda rack :flipoff2:

I think I did it backwards. I bought the software before the bender. Yours looks good.

thanks guys! Well, all the major work is done! :bounce:

Now it's just a matter of welding things up, putting the mesh floor on, light tabs, and paint (or powder coat, haven't decided.)

sorry about the bad pics, my cell phone doesn't like cloudy weather.

I'm going to call around tomorrow and see if I can get a quote on powder coating it.

I really like the design and the fit.
Now for the magic question , what does it weigh?
