Guys,

Got this on a good deal on the Tacoma World forum, new for almost 1/2 price. Not knowing if it would fit, but measured the bejeezus out of everything and it appears to work the way I need it to.

Model CSB-T1, fitted for Tacoma trucks

Truck-Bedz, Get the Best Night's Sleep in a Pickup Truck or SUV

We've been backpackers up till now but plan to do more car-camping now that we have the 80. It's a nice change to not have to carry everything and you can have lots more luxury items when you're not humping it 8-10 miles a day. We plan on either adding a DAC or a Napier SUV tent to enclose the back of the truck when we are in it. Plus it can double as an air mattress, albeit weird shaped when we need additional space here at the house.

I called the manufacturer and they weren't even sure if it would fit but will let them know that it does work in our vehicles.

Don't work for them or sell these, I'm just relieved it fit.

Just putting it out there......

Cheers,
Mike

Neat idea, I'll poke about their site, and see what the total options are.

Cool avatar!

I refuse to ever use any inflatable matress ever again, this has been my solution:

Fits perfectly in the back of my 80. Insulates better and won't deflate slowly all night long.

Who makes it? I've thought of having one of the many custom RV and boat mattress makers make me a folding foam mattress.

havent slept on it yet, but I like the beefy-ness of it and its fast inflate/deflate capability.

Thought about cutting foam, but this fell in my lap. Will give a review once we test it out.

Cheers,
Mike

What happened? Why so absolute?
Sounds like somebody had a leak in the middle of the night or got tired of an air mattress sucking the heat from his body.

I've even had that happen indoors on an air mattress. Still have one for just-in-case use, but not my preferred sleeping surface.

:)

I found a futon mattress locally for $30. it fits well in the back of the 80 and is much more comfortable and warm than an air mattress.

FWIW there is a local mattress company that will make custom fit mattresses. I've seen one they made to fit around the fender wells on truck beds, it was nice. It might be worth while to look around locally for a similar place if you plan to sleep in the bed of the truck much.

Sorry, wasn't paying attention and missed this. In short, I have tried way too many different airmattresses and they all suck. All of them slowly leak out, are not warm to sleep on and the :princess: tosses and turns all night normally. Makes for a fun night, kinda like a bouncy house.
