Next time I go back to Iceland I would like to go in the summer and drive the circle around the whole island. It is truly a one of kind place to see some beautiful untouched nature. :)

Amazing pics. I've been wanting to make it to Iceland for a while. I guess over there, 4x4 is more than just a fashion statement (like it is for me in LA... lol)

No eruption

The Volcano eruption moved (as you might know by now) from Fimmvörðuháls to Eyjafjalla-glacier, and caused flood and some troble for air-trafic in Europe for a few weeks, but the main Icelandic airport was only closed for a few days:grinpimp:
The eruption has stopped, it made troble to those living in 20km radius from the volcano, but did not affect the rest of Icelanders.

You can find a lot of photos and video by shearching for: "Eyjafjallajokull"
video shoving pressur waves
Video showing lightnings

One of my buddy did go on a expodition to mount a net connect camera on the glacier, while the eruption was active (area closed for public), these photos are from him:
2km from the eruption
IMG_3174.jpg

The glacier is coverd in 40cm (16in) of ash, and the holes are after gloving lava, that has melted the ice.
