Hey everyone,
I think I've been experiencing premature failures of the Transmission Mount. I'm running an old TBI 350 to the Marks adapter with the H55F, 33s and 4:10s.
Not a huge torque set up.
I've also got about 4 inches of lift via a Dakar Kit.
I've been getting some clutch chatter, and the last time I changed the mount it went away for a bit and now it's back. I haven't gone under to check it out yet, but I wanted to have a plan to reinforce/fix it in case it has failed again. Additionally, on decel it seems to load up and then release, so theres something weird going on.
This might be more applicable to folks with V8s or other high torque motors, but by all means feel free to chime in.
I'm wondering if there are ways to reinforce the mount, like a strap or something similar? Or maybe even better, suggestions on how to check the current set up to see if I need to make some adjustments somewhere to relieve the stress on the mount.
I haven't run any shims in the rear leaf springs to change the pinion angle, so MAYBE that might be the issue?
Let me know your thoughts,
Bryan
