Hello, I spent some time today extending my differentials, transfer case, and transmission breathers. All went fine except the transmission breather.
The trans breather I'm talking about is located on the top of the transmission, above the front of the trans fluid pan. The plastic breather stub sticking out of the trans doesn't seem well attached to the the transmission, and I'm concerned it would allow water to leak in during water crossings. Other breather fittings on the truck are strong metal tubes. This is plastic, at an awkward angle, and I can easily rotate it around its horizontal axis with my fingers. I never was able to get my new tubing attached.
I never laid eyes on it due to the awkward position on top of the trans, but I managed to slip my phone up there and get a good picture. Is this how it is supposed to be, or is something amiss? The movement is of particular concern.
