Anyoner know of a mechanic in the SoCal area that has experience with troubleshooting/rebuilding transfer cases for the 80-Series? I have a driveline whine that seems to be coming from the rear of my transfer case (determined using a chassis ear) and I was hoping to take it to someone who has experience on the internals of the area.
Yotamasters recomended that I take it to a specialist, but was not able to recomend anyone in particular. Unitrax wouldn't touch it. Most places that are transmission specialists don't seem to want to touch this transfer case, and just going out and buying a new one seems to be super expensive...like $4k expensive, when it may be as simple as an output bearing.
