Guys and gals,
I'm new to 100 series but I'm trying to help a friend find one. Do any Land Cruisers have the AHC or was that only a Lexus option? Same question about the rear locker, which make were these available in? (I read Slee's guide and know it's only early years). Also, if you were looking for a 100 series knowing what you know now, what should I be looking out for, good or bad? I know all about maintenance etc, I'm talking 100 series quirks or hidden goodies.
Thanks!

Thanks for the links guys, and for the answer about the AHC availability. I searched and I read the Slee guide but it wasn't telling me what I needed, specifically if Toyotas had AHC or just the Lexus'. And I read the thread about the locker but still I'm wondering if that was available in the Lexus or just the LC.

Lexus LX470 Differences

The Lexus LX470 share the same drivetrain and the 100 Series Land Cruiser, but there are distinct differences in both appearance and appointments. In some cases items that were added to the 100 Series in later model years, was available since introduction on the LX470. In some cases some items were never offered in the Land Cruiser. The major technical changes occurred at about the same time. Below is a partial listing of the different items from the LX470:

  • The high beam headlights are the multi–reflector type and the low beam headlights and the fog lights are the projector type.
  • Body cladding on the doors and quarter panels
  • Power telescoping and tilt steering column available from 1998 onwards
  • Combination meter design is different using backlit gauges and needles
  • Wheel design is different from the Land Cruiser
