Hey Jon,

Sent you a PM about 2 weeks ago but still haven't received any reply yet? Sending another one.

Need one.

Thanks

I have done this fix, and about a week after I performed the work, the lock started buzzing. The housing was not tight enough around the motor. After a few weeks of getting sick of the buzzing, I took it all apart for a second time, and re-sealed it, this time using a bench vice and really glopping on the JB Weld to keep it together forever. That lasted about 2 weeks, and it started buzzing again.

What else can we do to stop the actuator motor buzzing?

I've done all 5 this way, with no problems: glue the shells back together with a product called Plastic Surgery (seems very similar to Krazy Glue) and finish it off with a zip tie before putting it back in. I use JBWeld for a lot of things, but occasionally don't get good results, either because my mix isn't right or the tubes are too old.

I've never had the shell come back apart. I use Crazy Glue, then a few wraps of electrical tape (with the date I replaced the motor written on it). I have used the glue and zip tie method as well. Heck, try all three. Glue, tape and zip tie.

There is a lot of force coming from those little motors, if anything is loose it's going to buzz like crazy.

I used 2 zip ties, and zero glue. If you cinch the zip tie down super tight, it's not going anywhere. Just make sure that your zip tie ends are out of the way and won't interfere with the window mechanism, and also that you file down any sharp points that result from cutting the end of the zip tie.

The other benefit of the zip tie, is that if you need to go back in at a later time, you can easily cut the zip tie and not have to deal with a crap ton of glue. Not to mention if you go overboard with the glue, you may get it on the inside of the housing, and gum up the motor or plastic wheels.

Sorry Quick, somehow it slipped through the cracks. I'm sending a few batches today. PM sent!

Regarding the buzzing, I just used a two part epoxy on mine and it seems to have held up well. HD zip ties are a good idea as an addition.

2 emails, no answer... Am I too late?

Sorry. I think your emails may have ended up in my spam folder. Sending PM now. They will go out on Tuesday.

Thanks, PM answered (I'm in Canada, I guess the price is a little bit different)

No hurry on m y side but nothing received... just wonder if sent?

Received today!

Just have to find the way to take the old motor out ( removing the door pannel is easy)

Excellent. Yeah, shipping international can take 6-10 mailing days or more if it gets held up at customs. Glad you got them.

Jon these also fit the Toyota FJ Cruiser. 07-current

Thanks for that info. I'll add it to the first thread. spread the word to the FJC guys you know. I would post in the Blue Room but they are pretty strict about "marketing" products.

Well Crap...I read through the Door Lock Actuator Replacement tread a few times to make sure I knew what I was getting into, but I didn't see the post about ordering the motor from "jonharis". I ordered two from ebay and didn't realize my mistake until I got the actuator apart. I sent jon a email and sent payment yesterday. Hopefully I will not have to put everything back together before I get the new motors.

Awesome job on the DIY thread and sourcing the right motors.

Thanks IH8MUD peeps!!

Making another large order. Sorry if I have not gotten back to a few of you lately. PM with interest.....

Jonharis,

I have a 2005 Lexus ES330. I am experiencing what appears to be the same automatic door lock issue on my vehicle. Do you still have actuators available for purchase? Are they applicable to a 2005 Lexus ES330?

Jonharis,

I am new to this forum. Which address do I use to PM you regarding purchasing actuators for my 2005 Lexus ES330?
