Now that is impressive! :)

I have added a 09110-60010 as well as the 09110-21020 since that picture was taken. The 35050 seems to be a tough one to find. The only one above that is missing is the TEQ logo with cross-head screws. I have two with slot-head screws until I can find the right one.

I propose a mastermind contest between you two with the subject being "Old Toyota Jacks".

:D

That is an impressive collection, great coverage of early Land Cruiser jacks, plus some unusual Toyota pieces. Nice that you are able to keep them on display as well.

Any idea what vehicle that 21020 jack came with, it certainly is different.

Cool jack, thanks for posting the photos.

Haven't been able to find any information about that part number. For all the others in the write-up, I was able to locate at least one reference somewhere online. But for that one, have not been able to find a reference anywhere. Any idea what it's from?

The part number, screws and TEQ logo suggest it dates between 1963-68. Appears to be shorter than a FJ40/45/55 jack, and resembles the 09110-26010 Toyota Hiace jack listed in the reference, which is a 2 stage, 2 ton jack. Is 09110-35020 rated 2 tons?

09110-26010 from the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan, on the left in the group photo, next to a Land Cruiser jack.

The 35020 is rated for 2 tons, is a two stage, and has a crown top.

No clue... forklift or truck probably. Here are a few pictures for scale.

Here are the handles I have sourced over the years. Many are duplicates in the pictures but it shows some of the variations.

Ignore the bent one because someone cut and welded that one.

The Jack Reference is being updated with revisions and new content. Looking for your comments, corrections, and suggestions for improvements. Especially interested in your photos of Toyota cast iron jacks that were not included or identified in the current reference.

Summary of planned changes:
-more photos
-add photos and information for Toyota cast iron jacks not previously included
-replace selected photos with better quality pictures
-add section summarizing the JIS jack standard requirements
-discuss month/year codes on jack body
-bearing ball chart - update with additional info
-add photo of dis-assembled jack with individual parts labeled
-expand jack handles / jack rods sections with more discussion and photos
-identify additional IH8Mud jack restoration threads
-replacement hardware - identify source for replacement JIS screws, have not found anything definitive for this yet
-restoration section - identify a color for restoring the brown jacks, have not identified this, but have tried and ruled out several
-include examples of comparable jacks from Nissan and Mazda
-add a quick reference with photos/identifying information

Playing with off the shelf paints to document the colors.
  • Krylon 1816 John Deer Yellow
  • Krylon 1819 Old Equipment Yellow
  • 17135 School Bus Yellow
  • 17137 Caterpillar Yellow

The paint chips below were spray painted cards, scanned, and edited with no color editing.

Paint and paint codes:

These were a few cranks that appear to be factory paint. On the 2nd one down, I masked off and painted each color directly on the part. The picture was taken in full sun.

Nice experiment. From the photo it appears that 1819 and 17137 are both close matches to the original cast handle color, with 17135 too orange, and 1816 too yellow. Does it look that way in person as well? Which looks to be the closest match?

I ruled out 1816 but added it to the list because I bought it first thinking I had 1819. I figured others would make the same mistake.

As for 1819, 17135, and 17137....the jury is still out. Here are some new pictures:
