I stand corrected, it was a KB starter vehicle - doubly stupid considering I wrote the Wikipedia article which explained all that

Nice pic of the KB and BM. Looks like one happy worker in front of them.

Try this for something a little more colourful...

    You're welcome.
They'd come a bit faster except I'm scanning 30" fold-out brochures on a little A4 scanner and it takes about a week of spare time to stitch them back together without seams.
One day I will go back and remove the fold lines too but that takes much longer.

I'm just loving all the old pics coming out of this thread.

Cammo, great find, there's a lot of new stuff in there I haven't seen. :D

Do you have the publisher of that book so we can try to track it down?

    Not Peter, Cammo:D
The book was re-produced from the original Japanese version into English for Australian consumers by the request of Thiess Toyota P/L,

the Japanese name is MONTHLY 4X4 Magazine,
    Cheers Cammo

    Cammo,
    Excellent book extract.

I've got a similar one from a local Australia mag but it has many inaccuracies and doesn't cover anywhere near the detail yours does. The section on Japanese engineers experiencing the bull dust of our outback makes for a good read though.

The 1955 1.5 ton Toyopet light truck (later renamed Stout), brochure 316.
Note: the previous light truck brochure I put up was the 1954 1-1/4 ton light truck, brochure 228.
    Index of /~stepho/brochures/Toyota/Toyopet truck 316

Notice the 6 seater, 2 door utility.
