Thank you Henry J. for the 'longest run' articles... i was interested in this bit of information...

"Sir Leslie (Thiess) said, "Mike, i've got a fantastic product for you to sell". They were both laughing their heads off. I asked what the product was and Sir Leslie replied, "Bicycles! Toyosha bicycles, made by the Toyota Auto Body Company!"

turns out it was a good venture.... they were selling 2K a year of them :)

Manufactured by japanese bicycle factories for a division of the Toyota Motor Co. or under license with the Toyosha name. From the 1970's... so now we have a retro period correct bike to go with the land cruisers as well :)

AFAIK they were still producing the bikes in various forms till at least 1997. they moved operation to Taiwan at some point and Toyosha afaik is still producing parts of various things.

Amazing find! The handlebars are likely on upside down, giving it that cafe racer look, but it might be a more comfortable ride if you flip them back so that they provide some rise. Did you flip them or were they like this when you got it?
