I run 255/85/16s because i like tall skinny tires. I would love to have 900r-16s but I don't think they are completely necessary and it's a bit of a challenging size to find tires in.

I'm currently leaning towards M55s, I just checked my log book and I have 40,000km on my tires currently.

I run a set of 900r16 michelins for my extreme trips . I too am looking at new tires for that ,I'm thinking the yellow sea 900r16 at 300 a pop.

I was looking at those and I am somewhat tempted, but again there are a lot of unknown variables with them.

I've talked to a couple guys with Cummins trucks and they love them with proven results first hand , and two of them came from the mich. military side . $300 a tire though .

Same price as Toyos for the size I want.
Who knows, might be my daily driver tires next summer

ForestBoreal - have you looked at the Cooper Discover ST Maxx in 255/85R16 with 8.15" tread width

I have looked at them but I don't really like the tread pattern to be honest.

I'm after the taller rubber gearing if the m55 came taller I'd buy them for sure.

I am also after taller rubber gearing. Putting 900r16s will require me to put my axel forward 1.5"
My other worry is if I have a failure and how easy it is to get one.

Foreal Boreal, have you not moved you axle forward yet? I have a new to me Bj74 and it seems that 1" forward
is all that's needed to go to a 35" on front without SOA. It seems like a easy drilling of the spring perch.
Don't know if this helps. J

Running Cooper ST Maxx's now. Now on my 5 set of Coopers
