Tow Hitch Options with Euro Bumper

I want to attach a tray style bike rack to my '87 HJ61. Previously I was using a small adapter (pictured) for an older Yakima bike rack, but the receiver depth is too shallow for any modern bike rack.

Do you all think an aftermarket tow bar would mount correctly beneath this bumper? Or maybe custom fabricate a plate with receiever tube attached that bolts to the four holes on the bumper that the current drop plate attaches to.

Would appeciate any suggestions!

Why not chop the bike rack insert to fit the receiver you have?

I made my own tow bar.

There's this for a 40 series, but I don't know if the bolt spacing is the same. @65swb45

Wow, beautiful fabrication work on the tow bar! That receiver for sale from a 40 series does seem like the correct bolt pattern. But seems possibly too shallow to accomodate a bike rack, unfortunately.
