UPDATED, but you'll have to scroll down and see all the dog pictures before you find out the results......

Our dogs like to come in sometimes.* And they have a place to lay down and get warm, but I'd really like to find a material that is tough enough for a dog bed.I've tried nylon (like a coat skin type of material) and nauga hide.....no luck.* Thier claws just seem to rip it up.

We have 2 labs and 1 Chessie. None are smaller than 60lbs. We have had good luck with these.

Coolaroo® Pet Bed - SHOP.COM

Those look perfect! I ordered one to see if they like it. Then I'll order another one if it works out. Thanks!

We have a 100# lab/shepard mix that is pretty tough on stuff. He doesn't chew, but his weight and manuvering on a pillow bed just haven't mixed well. Our other dog (in my avatar) is a 75# american fox hound something who currently stole one of the kids bean bags. I took out all the styrofoam and put in a bunch of paper that he likes.

I've found that a sturdy canvas or cordura nylon lasts the longest as an outside cover.

Currently rocking 4 different styles in the cruiser & casa:

~Kimlor Dog Bed - Premium Quality - Save 45% which have lasted several years, kinda on the small side for dobers, especially after a couple washings of covers

~square ones from... Cabelas? fit perfectly in the crates, still fluffy and mostly clean

~ a cheapie from the local feed store, for the foster. She wanted to chew it at first, so I let her on it only for special time w/the human. A week later she's got it full time without destruction (so far). :fingerscrossed:

~ almost forgot ABO Gear Down Travel Pet Bed - Round - Save 58%, for the folding crates. Gets the most paws up of the bunch, and packable for trips.

A lady I work with here takes her old comforters and cuts them into quarters, and sews the ends shut. Cheapo dog beds, and they match the decor.
