No I do not have info on who rebuilt it, not even sure how long ago it was to be honest, when I bought it the motor was spotless, zero leaks, proper compression, and ran like a beauty. The motor did not take any impact, just the radiator, I will get some engine bay pics as soon as I can.Since the peanut gallery is all over the jokes ill offer an answer to your question.
As an FZJ80 you have the 1fz vs 3fe. Whole drivetrians i have seen have been 750-1100. But generally with less miles and from a running vehicle. Id wager 6-800. Do you have any info on who rebuilt the motor or the quality of parts used.
Also did the motor take any of the impact? You said no leaks before the wreck. Do you see any broken pieces on front of motor. A closer look or more photos my yeild some better ideas.
You may have better luck parting out the motor. Head, sensors, intake tube, ps pump, alt, starter, ac, etc
It looks like I'm gonna end up parting it out thanks to everyone's support and information. Actually, tire exploded on the freeway while I was merging and spun out into a center divider. I only had liability insurance on this vehicle.. My Cobra has the full coverage :/Swap in a new axle. New front clip. Front fenders are super easy to bolt on. Looks like a pretty straight on hit.
Or sell it as is. Probably get more for it as is than pulling the motor.
But like everyone else has said, the most money you will get is parting it out.
Im assuming it was your fault, a rear ender. Did you have full coverage?
