Transmission hump gasket fabbed. Transmission hump in. Then arts and crafts. New transfer case shifter boot to match the seats. Cityracer inner boot to go in as well. Should cut some noise down in the cab. Need to install a couple nutserts for the shifters and should be done.

Slow going but boots are almost done. Blank shifter to cover where a pto shifter can be installed at a later date. New cityracer inner tcase boot for the 4wd shifter.

Hope to get to the platers tomorrow and drop some goodies off. Front vent windshield parts, door limiters and old style headlight buckets. Few trucks worth. Chef's were pretty bad. Hope to get 3 sets worth plated but only had 2.5 sets. Ill take my set in after these come back.

Dash is going together. Wiring harness is tucked up by the cowl. Hard to see but that is what i wanted. The original turn signals in the dash are alt indicator and check engine. Ac runs thru glovebox under computer. 4wd indicator functions as it did in 64.

Modified defrost vents pop riveted to cowl. Will be nice to be able to use the lay down windshield. Couple more ac vents to run then install hurricane air system

Can't let chefs rig have all the attention. Little piece of unobtanium going on. New Toyota front apron marker lights.

Since I had all nice new plated stuff gave my own truck a bit of bling. Can't finish cause my supplies are spread out across the state and my grommet kit is 2 hours away. Maybe I'll pick up a couple on the way home tomorrow. Gives me a chance to polish my trim rings.

Headlight buckets done. Don't ever let anyone tell you polishing headlight chrome surrounds with steel wool is fun. My hands cramped up the whole time. After the steel wool treatment I used some mothers metal polish. Can't really wire the front till the clip is on. Can't put the clip on till the head and engine are back together. So onto gauge clusters. I installed el wire in mine. Just need to clean stuff and reassemble. Might as well do @Chef 's cluster at the same time. Hoping a little plastic polish will make the high beam indicators look good again.

Managed to get the cluster in the dash. I ended up swapping the backs of my indicator lights in the process. went from the large nut to the screw on plastic retainer. The plastic retainer keeps the lights in place. Bit more involved than just swapping from a nut to a plastic retainer. Took some time waiting on replacement tools to take apart my wiring harness. All my wiring bits are in Columbia to work on Alan's truck. But Cluster in, also assembled bib with headlights and wiring/relay assembly. Also rebuilt my small hand me down blasting cabinet. New glass, new gloves, new hose. Still a ton to do. Waiting on the machine shop to call. Machine shop called! Working on spring retainers and keepers. LS metric valves new LS springs, toyota retainer, ls keeper. Full details with pn's after I get the head back.

Got a little bit done. had to rehab my free baby blast cabinet with new plexiglass, new gloves and gun. Started cleaning up some small stuff. lots of different directions to blast on these little thing. I will rehab the hood hinges with brass bushings and stainless pins. Wasn't able to complete before watching two old guys insult each other. I probably should have just stayed in the garage.

Long weekend working on Alan's 45 but got this pic when I got home. My shop clothes are clean to work on my own truck for a bit. Should be finished this week. Fingers crossed. I really want to get my garage space back!

Finally got my head from the shop. Ill type up pn#s later but LS valves decked a bit. Since we replaced plugs in alans Sun I kept them for this paint job. Perfect since he had used them for his engine paint job! Let this dry overnight and start the reassembly so I can get some shop space back! Thank you @2fpower for all the machine shop communications. Shop dog really don't care.

Chased and cleaned all the head bolt holes in the block. Gear wrench wratcheting tap driver is a game changer. M13x1.75 tap and die. Gonna chase the head bolts b4 torque to spec. My 16 year old yard mower neighborhood kid is interested in learning about motors so it'll be a bit slower process on reassembly. Worth it to help teach him.

Rockers on and valve lash set cold. Intake exhaust manifolds on. Sadly I had purchased hardware on 2005. Exhaust going on. Slowly getting shop space back.

Not a lot to report. Rebuilt injectors are in, injector wiring is in. I had new injector cups and seal kits waiting. Cleaned up my injector wiring harness with new wrap last night as well and connected it to the bulkhead fitting on the firewall. Fuel rail feed and return lines go in tonight.

Plenum on, cold start injector plumbed, Water pump, thermo housing, O2 sensors.

test fitting back accessories and hoses. New OEM metal coolant line that runs from Drivers side, under block to pass side installed. Gates green stripe 5/8 heater hoses. I have a new rebuilt aftermarket alternator sitting here but had this reman toyota one that is known good. I just need to pull the cooling fins and pulley off and clean them up. I believe i will test fit the reman after the project is running. Too many unknown entities right now to test yet another thing. Volvo 240 power steering pump reinstalled. Notice i modified the Volvo backets to fit the 3fe.
I have some AN adapters for the power steering pump and box that need to be installed.

Need to order a new AN return fitting to go on the 16mm to AN6 return adapter fitting.

I have always wanted to test fit the AFCO 37130 in a saginaw pump to see if they work.
Hoping it will replace the fitting in the back of the pump to an AN pressure out. Now is the time since I will be opening up the power steering system. My rebuilt 60 power steering box is on the shelf waiting to be installed.
I found i had stacked coolant temp sender adapters to get to what I needed. Ordered an M16 x 1.5 to 1/8 NPT adapter to get the temp sensor in the actual coolant flow. New plugs, cap, rotor, wires.
Test fit the AC compressor again. I believe my York lost a seal sitting. Saw a little puddle under it. Guess I'll figure that out tonight or grab my spare york off the shelf and modify the oil passage. Instructions here ROCKCRAWLER.com - Getting Rid of an Oil Mess in a York Air Compressor

Fan was gross. @Chef had a spare in the parts pile, grabbed it and cleaned it up with a little oxyclean. Swapped to the newer clean fan and swapped a couple fan clutch studs at the same time. Swapped in my spare alternator. My OEM alternator need to goto Cam for a spa day.. I can put it back on after it is cleaned and rebuilt. My york sprang a leak so new nose cone seal kit ordered. I believe i am ready to mount fenders/grill and figure out heater hose routing.
