welcome to the addiction. If your asking about the the web site I believe it is down for some modifications, kind of like alot of our rigs are from time to time. If you are wanting to order a shirt follow the sticky "tshirts". Kirk

Ok... Well I'm interested in any & all suggestions for brake upgrades & air lockers... I'm researching OME & ARB respectively. I just hear great things bout those 2... Anyone have different experiences?:skull:

That's sort of a club motto.... anyway.

Brakes; I run disks all the way around, but had not already had all the parts for the rear disk conversion on my 60 axle (installed under a 40) I probably would have stuck with the drums. The 60 drums are much easier to adjust and make work properly thn the 40 drum, which is why the rdb conversion is so common.

Locker; Sorta depends what ya wanna with the rig, daily driver, light to moderate trails or a trailer queen trail rig. For a daily driver I like a selectable locker out back. Light to moderate trails and some street use I like a "lunch-box" (Aussie, Lock Rite, PowerTrax or EX Locker) out back. For a trailer queen I'd look at welding the diff or a spool. For the front I alway like the ARB or other selectable locker..... unless your hydro-assist then it don't make much difference in the front either.

Trails in KC???

I've heard throught the grapevine that we have some cool trails around here. I won't be able to hit them until oct unfortunately but it'll be worth the wait.

You're always welcome to come to run and ride with someone too. TAC has a bunch of experienced wheelers and trucks from awesome restorations to trail beaters and about everything in between. Just my opinion but I'd shot for the Flat Nasty event.....

Cool, Sucky part is I won't be back in town til then. But I will keep in contact through posts til then.

Evening,

My family and I are relatively new to Kansas City. The four of us enjoy camping, traveling, scuba diving, SCCA racing, sports leagues, and a host of other hobbies we can barely fit into our schedules.

Besides my wife and I, we have 5 and 7 year old sons and spend two or three days/evenings a week at some sort of practice or game.

I've currently got an old 60 still sitting in Atlanta (and unlikely to make the move) and three 80 series (see signature). The 95 (shown in my avatar) has been lifted, armored and gets used for camping & wheeling. The other two are primarily grocery getters.

The four of us attended Cruise Moab for the first time this spring - met a few people from Mud and had a great time exploring.

We look forward to getting more involved in future TAC events.

Rick

Alright, I am Lars and I too have a LC addiction! My wife Abbie and I have been married 7 long years. Im kidding she is the love of my life. We have 3 kids. Gavin is 5, Baylee is 4 and a little insane, she beat up her brother for saying he like this jeep thing we saw driving around, and little Rowan Mae who is 1year old on Saturday. We live and work at Boystown and live with 8 teenage girls. Gavin and I do lots of guys stuff every month for about a week!!! I grew up in western Nebraska and was always destined to marry a Kansas girl as my grandpa always told me growing up. I also enjoy bow hunting and love to get out in the woods when ever the estrogen levels get too high in the house!!!

My cruiser of choice is a 1973 fj40 with Kansas roots. It has a Marlin gears tcase. A 4 inch lift, 35" BFG MTs w/ 1" 1/4 spacers. I added Land Rover seats in the back and flares. The coolest feature of this truck is the original native american painting on the roof of the hard top. I got a welder for christmas so Ive been playing with different little additions!!! Oh and it has a lockrite rear locker. We are in the process of trying to find a mid 90's LC for the wife to wheel in. She said she would never join in the insanity. Little did she know!!!
