Hello,

I'm Tim Gingles, an off and on member of TAC. We have owned a cruiser sense 1991. I live in Raymore Mo with my wife Frances. We have 2 son's Alex and Matthew. Most of you know Alex as "Toyotology". Our other son Matthew has Autism and other special needs and lives in a group home in Grandview MO.

I'm a financial advisor with Ameriprise and manage a branch office on the Plaza in Kansas City. Frances is currently going to college for a degree in photography (her life long passion).

We have a 1978 FJ/BJ40 with a 3B, 4spd, ARB in the rear, OME suspension and a few other goodies. My daily driver is a stock 2010 FJ Cruiser and Frances drives a Scion. We are totally Toyota and proud of it.

I must admit I did stray from the fold and owned a Landrover Discovery for several years. One of the happiest days of my life was watching that piece of *#*& go down the street with a new owners butt planted firmly in the drives seat.:flipoff2:

I enjoy fly fishing and traveling and hope to be more involved with TAC in the future.

Hello all. New here and new to Yotas. Bought my wife a new FJ Cruiser last year. In the meantime, I sold my wheeling rig (98 Land Rover Disco). Now Im missing my wheeling rig and starting to overtake the FJ Cruiser for my own problems. Always like the FJ40s and had a couple opportunities, but never pulled the trigger. Would like to find one in the future.Im a recent transplant to Liberty from way of Alabama. Ive got a wife and 2 daughters (11 and 9). The youngest loves wheeling as much as I do. We love to camp and wheel.Anyway, if there is some love for the newer FJ Cruiser, Id love to get involved.

Short notice, but if you have time this weekend a bunch of us are at Tuttle - check the thread on DSR (Daylight Savings Run - not really anymore, but you get the point...)

Welcome!

I saw that trip. I wish I had found this sooner. We already made plans for the weekend, but dont be surprised if I suddenly show up. I'll keep an eye out for the next trail ride.

Glad to see you made it over here Cadaver. You guys still heading out to KS Rocks this month?
Thinking about going Sunday 11/11/07. You gonna make it? We have a couple other FJs making the trip. Open invitation by the way. Perhaps some here will help increase the group size a bit.

Looking at Potential Move to KS area...

Hello All,
I am looking at a potential move from Phoenix to the Overland Park area in Kansas for a Job relocation. I am heavily involved here in AZ with the CSC (Copper State Cruisers) and wanted to check out the local cruiser culture in the Kansas City Area. Can anyone give me an idea of the wheelin terrain in that area? Rocks, mud, woods??? I would greatly appreciate it being a desert dweller and not familiar with that area.
It looks like my relocation is going to be narrowed down to Kansas or Ohio, I haven't found out what there going to decide to send me yet, and wanted to reach out to the locals in the area to fill me in...
Any Feedback would be appreciated.....THANKS!

Josh aka FJ40LVR

hello to ya
with about a 3 hour drive around here you can do just about any thing you want to from rocks to big rocks to mud (IH8MUD) dirt trails,on the MO side there a ton of mud runner guys if your in to that :frown:, there is nothing close to the OP area, Kan Rock is about 1.5 hour drive from there, thats the closest
if you look in here for the frostbite run on feb 23rd thats at Kan Rock park
hope that help ya out some

My name is Bob and I am new to the area as well, down from Michigan. Live in Kansas City now with my wife of 17 years and 2 children-14 & 10. Got into wheeling about 1 1/2 years ago with an FJ Cruiser. It has an OME lift, ARB Bull Bar, winch & lights. In the process of adding more. I am going to try to get down to the annual meeting, schedule permitting. Look forward to meeting up on the trails.

Here's what you are looking at from a rock/woods perspective:

Tuttle Creek ORV Park - Randolph, KS
Kansas Rocks - Bronson, KS
Disney, OK
Flat Nasty - Salem, MO

Those are the one's I've been to. There are some smaller private parks in Missouri as well.

Thanks guys, I apppreciate it. Hope to see you out there soon.

There's also the Ozark National Forest near Fayetteville, AR - 3.5hr from Overland Park. It's 1.1 million acres of very steep terrain in the Ozark Mountains and is open to vehicles.

Thanks, I am going to get a closer look at the area sooner than I thought....I am flying in to Kansas City, MO tonight to interview in Overland Park tommorrow.
