I suck at searching im sure its in here somewhere.

what trucks came with top shift tcase?

I have an 85 22r
and a 87 22r both 5-speed trucks would either one?

thanks!!

It's not so much which trucks, but which transmission. Most of the G-series trannies are forward shift, I believe all the R-series are too. Most of the W-series are top shift.

Good selection of pics here:

Rebuilt Complete | Marlin Crawler, Inc.

I believe your carbed trucks both have G-series transmissions.

Very simple answer:
(1) All 1979-83
(2) All 1984-88 with 22RE EFI engine
The 1984-88 22R carbureted engines all have a front loader, and everything 1989-newer is front loader.

the reason I ask is, a guy near me is trying to sell some 5" all pro springs for $250, and im trying to buy a house so I have no money but want these bad!

and he wants a top shft case for trade. is one worth more than $250? because my 87(parts truck) is EFI so it SHOULD have one. my 85(trail truck) doesnt I suppose being carb.

I had always planned on swapping cases eventually.

should I trade and find another case later on?

The case is for the front or rear case, of a dual case set-up...

so... what's more important? IF, you even have it...

they're both R's... not RE's...

The top shifter, and to echo Jim, is EFI only...

Hey, I think another way to tell, is if there is a different shifter hole for the TC... It's THAT far back, it doesn't not share, or is close to the tranny shifter...

and there is not a separate holes for the shifters.

For the 85-88 EFI?

also if you are talking about shifters in the trans and transfer case, there are two holes in both set ups.
only difference is the trans for the r engines will have two shifters in it, for the re engines it has one and one in the transfer.

which was the issue I ran into with the marlin box............I had to drill two holes cause my forward shift went into the tranny hence the tranny had two shifters in it.
