What's everyone up to this summer, truck related or not!

Me, job search is first and foremost. Officially outta work September 18...unless they extend me again.
Golf - as much as possible - walked 54 holes over the 4th of July weekend and couldn't feel better.
Wheeling & Camping - nothing planned until Mountain Rendezvous in September.

Anyone know what happened in the lifeguard death in Newport Beach, tower 22? Very tragic.

I was with my kids surfing a little north of Salt Creek that same day and a guy broke his back. FD landed a heli on the beach. My son took this photo during the landing.

Very cool pic.

He'd gone out on a rescue - saved the guy, but got pounded with some 10-12 foot waves and very nasty rip currents according to the news. Sent Boyd condolences - had to have been a close relationship as tight as those guys are. Tragic loss.

Camp & Surf - My summer plans are to surf as much as possible and get the truck ready for Baja in September. Been surfing 3-5 days per week. Heading to Scorpion Bay for a 10 day surf trip and can't wait to go.

Truck - ordered new tires yesterday which will arrive tomorrow and a front wheel bearing kit from Marlin Crawler. Will also re-pack rear bearings and change all fluids.

I've been busy with life in general. Since we moved up to the mountains, i've become involved with a lot of volunteer work. I work the Morton Peak Fire Lookout, im on the CERT Team (Community Emergency Response Team) and im going for Search and Rescue now. That on top of running Trasharoo, Caltape, and JakJaw.

We still get out, but not as much as before since we live in the Mountains already and it feels like we're camping from home. We just got back from Cerro Gordo and before that Toroweap (North Rim Grand Canyon).

I hardly go on boards anymore.... mostly FB because it's quick and easy.

Hope all is well with everyone... and yes we Still have an 80 Series! Yosh's 1997 Collectors Edition!

What up peeps! I still check the board but don't post up much. I just sold my 80 and bought a 2012 Lexus CT200H. New job has me driving a lot, I'm getting 50 mpg though. Still got the Hundy, now that it's not my daily driver it's time to have some fun with it. Plan on taking a few trips to Big Bear this summer and flog the big beast.

I picked up a beat to hell 95 F250 Powerstroke and I'm slowly rehabbing it and getting used to buying aftermarket parts and attempting to figure out SAE sockets and wrench sizing without pulling out my front teeth.

I'm on summer break. Just chillin' with la familia. Wanting to cruise out with my 80 locally. Looking forward to possibly a new lift this month or next.

Doing improvements around the house. Keeping me busy for the last 2 weeks.
Removed 6+ tons of dirt. $50 a ton to throw at the dump. Installing pavers.

I think its around that era that fords were half metric and half SAE to make things even more frustrating.

now fords are almost all metric except for some of the front axle parts that come from Dana/Spicer. Of course they are all the sizes that Toyota doesn't use (13,15,18 ect.)

You hit the nail on the head. To make it even more fun I did all the work with my non English speaking father in law.
