I would be hesitant to buy any vehicle from the Houston area right now, especially sight unseen. The will be a lot of flood damaged ones hitting the market. They don't always show up on a carfax type report if they weren't totaled out. I would want a thorough inspection done by a trusted mechanic before I would put my money down.

Damn!!! Looks like I will have a hard time selling my 80!! :bang::D

Let me know if you take a ride to check it out. Curious how the overall condition (including the underside) is at that price point.

Apologize for the delay. I am currently out of the country and I was unable to ride out and see the LX; however, I did reach out to Ted, the owner of the dealership. The vehicle looks great, Ted was extremely helpful, and it checked out on Carfax as having one owner with an excellent maintenance record. The dealership was also able to provide a few pictures of the undercarriage (attached) ... just checked and the vehicle is still available as of 20 Jan 18.

I decided to purchase the 06 LC, I was able to get it for $17,500 for a few extras added to the deal. This is my first Land Cruiser! Thank you all again for the comments/guidance. I am currently out of the country so I had to use an inspection company and will have the vehicle transported to New England. But, I was searching for an LC in this condition for awhile. Looking forward to getting back to the US and driving the LC.

Awesome - welcome to the Hundy club! You're going to love it! Post up pics when you get it home.

Thanks, happy to be a part of the Club. I’ll definitely post when I return, in the meantime here’s a nice Land Cruiser Prado here in Japan. Not sure how these are received stateside or in this group; however, I definitely like the retro styling.

Better take a second look at that undercarriage. It looks sprayed and I see some bad signs of rust.

That is actually NOT the vehicle I went with. That’s an LX from RI. I purchased a rust free LC from N.C. But, thank you for adding that, I feel better about my selection. As mentioned in my original post, just a newbie here.
